Coaches Corner

Coaches:

So you think you want to be a youth lacrosse coach…  THAT’S GREAT!

Being a coach is one of the most rewarding things I have done in my career and I can’t wait to share that experience with you.  Having an opportunity to influence the lives of our young athletes, not just in their growth and love of the sport but in life lessons like sportsmanship, teamwork, perseverance, integrity and dedication is an honor that many are given but it takes someone special to really excel at.  My goal is to set you up to not just succeed, but excel.

We love our coaches that have been involved with the sport since they could walk BUT, if you have little to no experience with the sport, THAT’S OK!!!  Learning the game is easy and we have a plethora of resources to help you there, including access to coaches training videos, training and drill examples and concept videos built by players from the PLL (Professional Lacrosse League).  It can be intimidating taking the roll of head coach but rest assured, lacrosse is a tight-nit community and we will NOT let you fail!  What we can’t teach is the desire to be involved and help guide these young athletes and the fact that you are reading this right now means you have that!

Our coaches do have a few requirements to knock out (for both our sakes!)  The requirements below don’t just cover the club but also protect our coaches!  USA Lacrosse provides insurance for coaches with this registration, including support and coverage for frivolous lawsuits up to and including accusations of bias (which rarely happens but is a HUGE safety net!)

Register for an adult membership with USA Lacrosse ($60)  (This fee will be re-imbursed by the club upon successful completion of your first season).
